■ Precautions when connecting the extension wire

d) When connecting the extension wire with the guide wire, it is securely inserted to the boundary line between the PTFE coated and the non-PTFE coated segments at the proximal end of the guide wire. When connecting the extension wire to the guide wire, grasp the connecting section of extension wire and the proximal end of guide wire as close to the end as possible and carefully insert the guide wire end into the connecting section of extension wire.

e) Maintain a grip on both the guide wire and extension wire, on each side of the connection area. Pull lightly to confirm the guide wire is connected.
